Clutch

The new Bronze ceramic clutch assembly is replacing the cindered iron for better wear and friction characteristics and is being used in Carroll Shelby's Cobra I behind the Olds Aurora motor as well as in the new Ford Mustang 4.6-liter V8. This is the ONLY clutch that Carroll Shelby found that will hold the horsepower of the Olds Aurora engine and still have decent drivability. The increased diameter and clamping pressure of this clutch will hold the horsepower and torque of the engine. The stock 9-1/4" diameter clutch is just not large enough to do the job.

More Holding Power for High Output Engines.

This 9-11/16 inch diameter pressure plate is the largest diameter we could make fit on a Fiero flywheel. The increased size of this pressure plate makes it ideal for high output engine conversions.

This pressure plate is sold separately and will fit all the Fiero transmissions.

Stage 1 9-11/16" Organic / Organic Disk

This friction disc has organic lining on both sides of the disc. This makes it an excellent choice for stock of slightly modified 2.8 or 3.4 rocker arm engines.

Our tests have shown that this disc should hold a minimum of 200 ft-lbs of torque. This makes it noticeably better than the stock 9-1/8 inch disc.

Stage 2 9-11/16" Bronze Ceramic / Organic Disk
	More Holding Power for High Output Engines. This is a dual friction clutch disc with organic lining on one side and Bronze ceramic pucks on the other. This clutch will hold a medium built 2.8, such as turbo-charging or the 3.4 and 3.8 engine conversions. This clutch has a smoother pedal feel and is less prone to chatter that the kevlar / kevlar clutch. Our tests have shown that this disc should hold approximately 300 ft-lbs of torque. This clutch is an excellent choice for people who do not plan on being too abusive to a clutch.

Stage 3 9-11/16" Bronze Ceramic / Bronze Ceramic Disk
	More Holding Power for High Output Engines. Bronze ceramic material on both sides provides more grip & less slip. This Clutch upgrade will hold the horsepower of the 3.8 supercharged and V8 conversions with very little pedal pressure increase. This clutch has minimal chatter when it gets hot. This clutch is ideal for the more aggressive driver. Our tests have shown that this disc will break friction at approximately 360 ft-lbs and hold at approximately 400 ft-lbs of torque.
