WCF 5 speed transmission (1984 - 1988).

The 5 speed transmission we offer to retrofit the Fiero is capable of handling up to 500hp.  This transmission will have an adapter to fit the standard front wheel drive bell housing configuration as well as the Chevrolet V8 configuration.

This transmission will come with a half-shaft in order to give you equal length axles on each side of the car.  This will accommodate the Fiero stock CV joints.  This transmission will also have a limited slip differential.

With the bell housing on the transmission being deeper, numerous different clutches can be used, including dual disk clutches.  The clutch diameter will remain the same.  With the mechanics of this transmission, a much stiffer clutch can be used to hold the horsepower. 
The hydraulic clutch line will have to be modified to accommodate this transmission.

The shift cable will have to be replaced with shift cables for this style transmission.

The transmission mounts will be in the factory position so you can use the factory rubber mounts or the WCF urethane mounts (recommended).

Since this transmission is considerably larger (by 5 inches) the frame of the car will have to be modified and a box section will be provided to weld into the frame of the car for added stiffness.

The WCF 6 speed transmission uses the same case as the 5 speed, consequently having a little lower horsepower rating.
